South Essex Homes Poetry Competition winners announced!
South Essex Homes are pleased to announce the winners of their first ever poetry competition. The winners and highly commended poets were all presented with certificates and prizes for their creative efforts. There were six winners in total, two first place prices, one second place and three highly commended.
The judges had the tough decision on deciding the winners, from the numerous entries that were received. 1st place was awarded to both Ruth Cummins, for her poem “There for the grace of God” and Mrs Mullins for her poem “Across that sea” , second place went to Mr Fallon for his poem “Going Underground” and highly commended went to Maria Gourd, Talia Lieberman and Luca Warren for their entries.
Lynsey Hurd, Communication and Marketing Coordinator said: “We received a really high number of entries for this competition and were overwhelmed with the variety of topics and. It is very encouraging to see so many poems from a range of different ages, about a variety of topics from happy to sad”.
South Essex Homes launched the competition as part of national poetry week.
