Success was on the menu today at Sheltered Scheme, Nicholson House, following their first ever win of the Annual Sheltered Scheme Quiz. The competition, in 6th year, sees all South Essex Homes schemes go head to head in a battle of the wits. The quiz consisted of 40 questions ranging from entertainment to sport- something for everyone!

Nicholson House achieved 38 correct questions, where over 30 residents from the scheme in Southchurch attended. This included resident, Eric Christensen, 99, who has lived at the Southchurch scheme for 7 years he said” We are delighted to win, this is the first time for us and it was a complete group effort. I thoroughly enjoyed it and a good time has been had by all! ”.

South Essex Homes staff members Maria Scanlon and Craig Dalrymple were also on hand as adjudicators making sure no cheating was taking place and offered their good luck charms which seemed to work. The residents celebrated their success with a fish and chip supper and boasted they would be claiming the trophy again next year.
