Southend Careline receives national accreditation

Southend Careline, the lifeline service that allows residents to stay independent in their own homes for longer, has once again gained national accreditation.
Southend Careline provides a service to residents in Essex who may feel vulnerable in their home. Residents may worry about having an accident, a sudden illness, having an intruder in their home or just becoming less able. Families may worry about their parents and parents don’t want to be a burden on their children.
Southend Careline offers a service that may help to lessen those fears by providing reassurance and peace of mind. The service provides a fast, easy and reliable way for customers to get help, whatever the time of day or night – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
94-year-old Peggy Malone speaks to Careline every day. She said: “Having Careline to hand makes me feel reassured that someone is looking out for me and enables me to remain living independently rather than going in a home, where I feel I would rapidly go downhill.”
Southend Careline has now again received the Telecare Service (TSA) accreditation, a nationally recognised award. The TSA is the representative body for the telecare industry in the UK and aims to promote and support the telecare industry and highlight its benefits for consumers.
In order to achieve this award, the Southend Careline team have had to demonstrate that their systems and processes are in compliance with the TSA’s standards and modules, as well as showing that their service is delivered to a high standard.
Margaret Hutchings, Supported Housing Services Manager (Careline & Sheltered Housing), said: “It is very reassuring to receive independent verification that we are providing a safe and reliable service, which treats service users with dignity and respect. As always, we will continue to provide the best possible service we can, tailored to our residents”
