South Essex Homes has been placed at number 16 in the list of the Top 50 Landlords of 2018.
The Top 50 shortlist and the positions of those within it was decided by a group of expert judges for 24Housing magazine, and was published on Friday 13th July. The position makes us the second best ALMO in the UK.
The feature article in 24Housing cites the ‘Big Conversation’ event that South Essex Homes had with residents in March, the pledges made at which will save £20,000 in the year ahead.
The article praises The Hubs, which South Essex Homes was instrumental in setting up and have welcomed over 10,000 visitors to date. Also mentioned is the fact that profits we are set to make over the coming years from our commercial subsidiary, South Essex Property Services, will be reinvested into our core social and community-focused role.
Roger Eastwood, Chair of the South Essex Homes Board, said: “Our excellent team here at South Essex Homes work extremely hard to provide the best possible housing service to the tenants of Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and I am delighted that, through their efforts across different areas of our business, we have once again been recognised as one of the best landlords in the UK.”
Cllr Tony Cox, cabinet member for adults and housing, says: "It is fantastic news that South Essex Homes have been recognised in this way and to be the second highest ranking arm’s length management organisation in the country is a great achievement in what is a difficult time for the housing sector.
“I am very pleased that it is clear that South Essex Homes keeps delivering for our local community.”
