Ways to Wellbeing
Published: Monday, 13th February 2017
A series of courses have been launched by Southend Adult Community College aimed at helping people aged 19 and over who have experience of living with mental health.
These 'Ways to Wellbeing' courses are funded as part of a Department for Education national research project to see if adult education courses have a positive impact on people’s wellbeing and mental health. The aim of every course and workshop is to try something new within a non-pressured and supportive environment. No prior knowledge or qualifications are required. Taking part in any aspect of the pilot is voluntary and completely free of charge.
If you are interested in taking a course or workshop, or just want to talk to someone before you sign up, the first step is to book an appointment with one of their Wellbeing Coaches who will explain the courses on offer and take some further details from you.
The trained Wellbeing Coaches are able to offer up to 4 individual coaching sessions to each participant and have their own lived experience of mental health.
Courses start in late February through to early March 2017 and are available on a wide variety of topics including:
- Creative Writing
- Tai Chi
- Confidence Building
- Paper Crafts
